With those 9 weeks substitute for a cycle tour this year?
Did you enjoy the new but same old view of Thoraise?
Once we get back, we will have to rendez-vous again at Fol Epi!
It could cost us, as we expand the guest list for Sunday dinner...
6 years agoWe are using a secret weapon - me. I will run up and down with our stuff and have Dodie make the journey just once. The exception of course was that place in Amsterdam where the toilet was down two flights!
6 years agoHi ,
So now I'm famous? Sheesh, I'm gonna get a big head if I keep reading posts like that. Not that it's very likely, mind. Anyway, great to see you two again and thanks again for the fine dinner.
Say hi to Léo and Steph and Michel when you see them and let us know how Dodie's knees are fareing.
Cheers,
Keith
Keith and I are sitting in the Auckland Airport waiting for our flight to Vancouver. Our 9 week New Zealand and Australia trip has come to an end. Our first non biking adventure in 5 years. I am going to run out of free wifi any moment so more to follow, but a huge thank you for easing the boredom of the wait for our flight. Keep peddling!

6 years agoHow are the knees holding up to all that charm?
6 years agoOh cool. We can help pack and move.
6 years agoThe lady who owns the B&B thought it was remarkable that Keith lives permanently in Givrey and also speaks French. But she allowed that at the halte fluviale here there are lots of English speakers. She said the halte here is one of the major ones in France.
We got Dodie the 500 wH battery, and I have her old 400. The 500 is working out for Dodie. It can do double the distances we are asking of it, on the flat. In hills or wind, it just makes it, though there was that day in Aachen where we decided to give it a one hour mid day boost. We have a (quite heavy!) 4 watt charger for it, and in an hour it gains a fair bit of charge.
Did you say you planned to rent a bike when coming again? Can you tell us again the plan? There was a boat tour in there too, we seem to recall.
Hey, we expect the Bartlett's have now landed in Frankfurt, so we won't feel so lonely on this continent!
We are finally caught up on these our bedtime stories. :) We have had a busy week and the move to Mill Bay is for sure now. Will be as soon as we return from Europe in Aug.
6 years agoThe bag goes into the water and their catch is put in it to keep the fish fresh and alive.
6 years agoYou said the crabby guy was lower left but we can't see you anywhere!!! JK!
6 years agoSt Jean is where our very good friends (from here) have an old dutch barge Each year they spend the NZ winter on it touring the French canals - they leave for France in 2 weeks John has a bike aboard and explores the surrounding countryside while Rosemary, an artist, paints Three times on our trips we have met up and spent a pleasant time with them It was interesting to sail from St Jean to Dole as we did acouple of years ago It is very social on the canals Look out for NZ flags on the boats there are lots of them
How are you finding your batteries after your longer days Mine is bigger than either of yours so have beenwondering how 400watt /h is
Keeps safe

You can give my e-mail to Chantal and Jean-Paul if they wish to contact me.
I will be happy to speak with them.
Say hi to Keith from me.

This week is going to warm up with a lot of sunny days.
Have fun,
You are certainly famous with us - one of only two English speaking cyclists (other is Leo) that are not Peter Mayle, that know of that have settled in France.
6 years agoBut hey, it's definitely la clé, eh!
