You may be right about that. On the other hand, I'm not sure he can be trusted. For some reason, he corrected my identification of the reptilian water rat and called it a "turtle." What's up with that?

Weird. I didn't even notice that when it was right there in front of me.

Great news! As you experienced, it was especially helpful when getting off the bike on unstable ground

I've often thought the same thing about cycling uphill into a headwind. I think it does actually block the wind a little. Or, maybe it's just the fact that you're already going slower because of the hill, and that makes the wind feel a little less obnoxious.

Greg, I don't want to criticize your wildlife identifications skills, but you might want to check with Bill Shaneyfelt on some of these...just saying.

Hi,
One thing I learned in my 13 years of going back and forth between Mankato and my metro area home was that hills end, the wind never does. Andy Hampsten said that he became a great climber by heading west from Fargo until he was completely worn out by the headwind, then just coasting home again with the wind behind him.
Cheers,
Keith

Interesting that the first part of the sign on the ground is on the right side instead of on the left where it should be. But, at least it IS still there and not in the river…

Loving the wildlife sightings. And what nice weather for you tour. AND to be sent off by a live band. I think you must just live right ;’-).

Not good enough focus to be positive, but it might be a painted turtle.

I'm back from my overnight trip now and it DID work well. Ive been following your doctor's advice and wear the brace day and night. Even in bed.

"In fact, she approved so quickly that I suspect she was looking forward to getting rid of me for 24 hours or so. "

Such a familiar feeling... :D

Mine that I got in college and took 10 or more years to heal completely looked similar, but a little less to the side.

I hate when that happens!

Looks like you got it covered, and I am surely glad it did not end up worse!! Last year Susan (my partner) slipped on a one step into the garage and severely broke her ankle!!! I am happy that did not happen to you. And - I will be on the edge of my seat until you get back and post about this trip!
