That cloud looks like a space ship .. very cool that you captured it!
5 years ago“Cycling is more than just cycling.”
That’s incredibly true and well-put. Cycling is dealing with stairs and elevators, heat, traffic, sketchy paths, searching for delicious canned chicken, encountering generous people, freedom, making friends, and well-defined calves (for most people).
What a horrible situation! Andrea - I admire the courage you had to do what you could do offer some kindness and comfort to the little dog.
The posture of the onlookers indicates that they don't care, especially the guy holding a cigarette behind his back.
But I'm sure that your act of kindness had an impact on them.

But, well, I suppose that doesn't matter since kids don't walk or ride their bikes to school in Centennial.
Anyhow .. yes! Well-nurtured trees would have been a much better choice there.

5 years agoI love spring stores. There's a really big one with huge antique rusty springs in downtown Mandalay that I adore.
I also love footprints on fenders.
That's a good one, Ron. One of Stephen Wright's best.

Great to read this story and see the photo after hearing you talk about this experience when we were in Portland.
5 years agoI love your awareness of comparative value .. 1 night = 50 breakfasts for 2. This would never even occur to most people who grow up in a land of plenty.
I do wish you and Andrea had splurged, though ..
