What could be better than a listening session with 2 lap cats?

Love this photo!

You totally get it, Jen. Yes, 'home' is interconnectedness for sure and of course one must have experienced many important moments there. I guess I would describe the concept of 'home' as having an overwhelming feeling of belonging to a place - a place that comforts you to your core. I think we all share this feeling at least some time in our lives and for the lucky ones there are more than one places we call 'home'.

Thanks for sharing this powerful experience. So glad the guest house dog was there for you when you received the news about your mom. And that years after her death you and Andrea were together to find the big tree and the house where your connection to Chiang Mai began.

I've been thinking a lot lately about the concept of home. And after reading this entry, it seems that parts of 'home' might lie in the circumstances that allow us to experience a sense of mysterious interconnectedness when we're in a particular place (??)

How incredible that you and Andrea arrived in Chiang Mai at just the right time to take a carefree bike ride. And that your joyful exploration led you to your former home, which may have remained hidden had you arrived in the middle of a busy day.

It's direct current not like our alternating current in America - whatever that means. I know nothing about how this direct current works but I've always wondered how they can place ladders right on the lines and tap into them. Electricity baffles me.

I’ll never forget my first trip to Bangkok, seeing men leaning bamboo ladders onto these wires and hooking up Christmas lights for the king’s birthday directly into them..

What an amazing experience to taka a private self-guided night time tour of Chiang Mai!

Oh, I'd hate to be the one called out to repair one of those wires ...

"It's the 7th down from the top and the 15th from the right ... Yeah that's the one ... Now be sure not to touch any of the others because they might have electrical current and we're not sure where to shut it off."

Sounds like 'lizard bouncing' to me ...

I think that might be Jeeves behind the tinted windows.

He's probably on his way to fetch your cognac.

Mmmmmn! All of your food photos look like very healthy, nutritious, and filling cycle touring fare.

Much better than a lot of the processed stuff we were eating on Porridge.

They're probably salted and used as a condiment, they're less than an inch long.

Either fish balls or pork balls. Kind of a very finely ground sausage, quite yummy.

How do you eat them? Whole? Mixed with rice?
