One time a farmer asked me if I wanted to milk his bull.

That smile seems to convincingly say, "This is it! I will keep dry now!"

Jen Rahn commented on When the Birds Stopped Singing

How powerful to ride through this place where the birds are singing again and children are smiling.

Thank you for your thoughtful reflection on the horror of the My Lai massacre.

Every person traveling as an agent of peace, sharing smiles and kindness as they go, helps to mend the wounds created by the atrocities of war.

Thank you for being an agent of peace.

I'm glad you like this one of Andrea. I, personally, love this photo of her. And this was right at the height of some of the toughest times of our trip - one of the worst days. She's an adventurer with a smile.

"I brake for fried bananas" - might be a nice sticker for the rear window of your car?

I'm certain that this woman chose her jacket and sandals for the day knowing that she'd be perfectly positioned under the red lantern when you snapped this photo.

Yes! Love how relaxed they both look.

Just thinking .. with the way most people travel (as tourists, not travelers) .. how many of them ever see places that aren't clogged with junky consumer goods.

Another advantage of travelling by bicycle, I suppose.

Glad you were able to see Hoi An during the pre-consumer hours of the morning. What a beautiful place!!

Perhaps not an ideal Thanksgiving, but one of the better Thanksgiving stories I've heard ... You received the medical attention you needed, saw some pretty flowers, enjoyed some tasty beverages, and felt sincere gratitude in the company of the perfect travel companion.

Very interesting to read about / see photos of the hospital experience there.

I was soaking wet. 90% humidity, 10% sweat. You’ll notice I was wearing completely different clothes on the ride down.
