How do I know what this is, having never seen it before? Our WatmShowers host Jeff showed it to us when we walked down to the bayou behind his house. Apparently Jeff described it to some folks at an arboretum, and they got pretty excited about it. It’s native to the Mississippi Gulf Coast but has not been found in the wild there for a good while. The arboretum plans to take cuttings from Jeff’s plant for propagation.

With Ed starting with a flat tire and missing bolt before even riding or riding very far, hopefully your mishaps are done for the trip ;’-). Alligators scare me and I would chose to be no where near one!! In my campground - or near my campsite - would be way too close!!!
7 months agoPossibly largeleaf pennywort. Took a bit of searching... a flower shot would help nail it down.
