So sorry about your injury Susan. I'm glad you are still writing up your experience and sharing these fabulous photos.
2 weeks agoThe tour company support was really a nice story.
And yes, what about the wallet?
Arusha to Moshi is just where Stephen Gray and Catherine Docker are in their blog right now!

2 weeks agoWhat great support you received from the tour company after your crash.
Hope you gave them a good review.
Did your travel insurance cover your flight home, or was that on you? Hopefully your fit to fly form means they did? I've always wondered how helpful insurance would be in an emergency situation like that.
2 weeks agoIt seems like you made the best of a bad situation. Did your wallet get found?
2 weeks agoDon’t rush into anything Susan — you want to be totally healed and well. Strangely, I had bronchitis for the very first time last year and am now learning of many others having the same!
2 weeks agoThanks Nancy. I'm slowly recovering but have been waylaid by a nasty bout of bronchitis. The coughing doesn't help my ribs, but I hope to get back on the bike this weekend
2 weeks agoGlad to hear Dodie is enjoying the Canon!
2 weeks agoSo sorry for this mishap in your journey Susan. I know the pain of “non displaced fractured ribs”. I have had two different fall from my bike — the most recent this past July. Nothing nearly as exotic and exciting as you have had. I fell on a day ride not far from home and for someone about 10 years older than you, that is not something one wants to have happen. I was off my bike for about three weeks with meds to allow me to even sleep! So I know your pain. By now, as I write this, you may be healed and I hope riding again.
3 weeks agoWhat a saga. It sounds like you got off fairly lightly all things considered. This is one of the main reasons why we don't do group bike tours. The need to go faster than we prefer on terrain that we would avoid would not suit us, especially Dodie. By the way, Dodie adores your "old" Canon and will barely let it out of her hands, even when the Lumix is not working and I ask to "borrow" it.
3 weeks agoAnd how are you now?
3 weeks agoSusan, still looking for how did the ride end? What made you fall?
