Glad to see you two out and about, a different kind of tour, but out neverless!
I had a great 11 day tour close to home and getting Judy out more and more, Enjoy your fall!

Victor, ID has a drive in movie theatre named Spud!
3 years agoDo you know about the Purple Air website to check air quality? It’s a network of home air quality sensors. (https://purple air.com/map). In the little dialog box for map data, select the conversion drop-down menu for Woodsmoke (might default to US EPA). In that same dialog box you can turn off inside sensors. I think I’ll make a post about this for the forum.
3 years agoLove the Tshirt, Don. Sorry about all that haze and smoke. Hope it clears soon.
3 years agoYes, that's one of his favorite shirts! We have awful cell coverage here and thus poor internet even with our boosters. So don't be surprised if we don't post anything for a couple of days until we get to Butte, MT when hopefully we'll have better coverage.
3 years agoThat's a great shirt!
3 years agoYes it's a Sun AX aluminum bike. Originally it had a 20 " wheel in the back and a 16" wheel in the front. We had it changed to 2 - 20" wheels so I could use better tires. I've had it for several years and love it! So comfortable to ride with a lower bottom bracket similar to the tandem. It's not a fast bike but gets me around.
3 years agoNice bike. A Sun? 20” wheels? Great alternative ride.
3 years agoIf you feel like eating out tonight, the Hot Tomato pizza place is ‘the’ place for pizza.
3 years agoI've only ridden the trail to Fruita twice. One time going to the new end at Loma.
There are definitely different trail surfaces with varying qualities. I'm having trouble remember many drive way crossings . . . . I did like the section over by Corn Lake best. It's more remote.
The day I rode with Jim, we saw many riders, including trikes.
Give Sprite another try. Pump up your back support, etc. Getting gear situated isn't as fun for some of us (me), as others. I like to just get on and go!
What's interesting is that this rocket was featured in an Airstream magazine several years ago. We're planning to submit this picture to the magazine and maybe get it published in the owner's section.
3 years agoThis rocket had such an interesting history and we're glad it landed here in Denver -at the former Lowry air base next to 2 of the original hangers now repurposed into shops, a you-store-it area and an aircraft museum. There is an ice cream shop in the base which we haven't actually tried. I keep telling Don that should be a reward for biking 50 miles!
3 years agoThanks! I've been enjoying following your tour. You do a lot of museums which we also like to do on tours. We call this bike our speed machine. We got it last summer as our Screamer was on it's last legs. Hopefully next spring we'll be able to do an actual loaded bike tour on it.
3 years agoHappy trails, Marilyn and Don. I look forward to hearing about your adventures.

Love those recliners. I got one last summer and spent most of the non-smoky days in one in our backyard. When it was hot and smoky I brought it inside so I could lie in front of a fan when all the windows were closed (no AC). And - they fold! So perfect for an RV.
