Isn’t it fun to round a corner and get a surprise like that arch?

That is a great idea. They would also be useful as a supplement light if caught in the dark, something we have been lucky enough and work hard to avoid!

It was! His was even bigger, if you can imagine, and had an attached bench which was toasty warm. He said the stove warms the entire living area. Part of the kitchen wall was the back of it and so warm as well. It felt so cosy.

It was, and like our evening with you and Robin last year, we will treasure the memory.

That is really interesting, and especially the part about right of way. Thank you for sharing. It looked like such a fun way to get exercise but I would probably be too scared to get to any speed that would be exercise!!!

There's a couple I've seen a couple of times in Tucson, down by the Valencia underpass that circles around, on the Julian Wash path. They have a whole stable of dogs on leads that run so fast I'd be concerned about flipping a trike over. They are quite a sight.

I wonder if Gerhard's ceramic stove was similar to the one in Pfaffenhofen, Bavaria that I showed here. https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/october24/pfaffenhofen-to-moosburg/#56198_x1h2lxq6bw4ba89bryo5y5k319k_89919

Good friends are one of life's greatest treasures! Sounds like a fantastic evening.

Yes, I have not used them but they have no brakes! The local biathletes have many a road burn story. At the local nordic centre the signs about who has right of way on paths alway have the roller skis having priority.

Just reread your account. We carry headlamps; they are useful for finding the way to the bathroom at night in unfamiliar accommodation. Mine has a red lamp option so easy on the eyes.
