That’s such great news Pierre! You must feel so relieved. Funny …we were just talking about you a minute ago. We will be looking forward to your visit in Victoria

Hello Kathleen and Keith 🤗
Once again you did well 👏👏.
What a fantastic trip, awesome journal and pictures.
I loved your last days in Swisserland.
Hope you flight back to Victoria will be fine.
By my side, I finally had the hernia surgery on Wednesday... you remember, that was the origin of all that "mess" 😂😂.
Everything is OK now and the future is shining again ( La Réunion island, Victoria 😋😋).
We stay connected.
All the best to you 🤞🤞
Pierre

Must be the “new thing” to get a cold at the end of a cycling trip! Perhaps the body knows it’s no longer on “cycle time” so the adrenaline does not kick in. I had my first cold in over 5 years as well. Changing airplanes and airport 3x within 24 hours didn’t help much.
However, I have lost hearing in my right ear and do hope it will “open up” before too long. Old age ailments aren’t for cyclists —we just pedal along.

Yours has been a satisfying journal to read. Thank you for taking the time to include the details. They are what makes me feel I am riding along with you!

Sorry about your cold, Keith. Thanks again for sharing your experiences with us, and especially for going out of your way to meet up with us in Saint-Rémy! Have a safe, uneventful flight home.

We’ve been very lucky with that!

Smiled! It was our only option and they likely knew that. If they said no we would have had slide our bikes down that grass bank on the left. They were very good about it

Hi Patrick - This was our 3rd ride on this route along the Rhine - the first was in 2014. Been tempted to check out riding on the Swiss side but never have. Well marked route and we haven’t tired of it.

You made me laugh. We would never ride in it at home unless caught by unexpected rain, but once you are in it, it’s okay. Wouldn’t sunshine have been grand though?

Sunshine would have been ideal, but at least the day was dry until 2 PM, exactly as predicted. We were glad not to be on a train 😝
