I bet it would have Keith. We wimped out on the extra out-and-back to Las Ermitas. The views of the city on the way down were plenty entertaining as it was.

Yes, actually a refresshing change to see this small country parish church after all the grand mosques and cathedrals.

Looks like the view might've been worth the climb.

Quite a modest structure, by European / Catholic standards.

I was so surprised Betsy. The weather is still nice and there are crowds in the streets. We resorted to the grocery store for a fix a few times.

I’m having trouble finding gelato in southern Italy. Almost all the shops are closed for the season. ☹️

I'll grant you it's not a pretty picture, but it was tasty.

"... first century foundations..." The concept boggles my mind. Incredible to think those things have been there for two thousand years, or that they could have been built that long ago.

"It's appalling that 6 days later I can't remember what I had for dinner, just that we were happy with it."

I have to admit that all too often I can't seem to remember what I ate, just six MINUTES later.

That's so nice to hear! I hope you do get to Cordoba. I was surprised at all there is to do here, and in just a few miles you can be out of the city for a nice ride.

Just lucky to find a good spot in the pews where I could lean back, but thanks.

Thanks Anne! I'm getting farther behind because I get so mired in the details, but it's worth it to preserve the memories.
