Congratulations on persevering through another mechanical drama. You always seem to find a way through.
10 months agoSuch a beautiful blue sea
10 months agoCool perspective. I like the sudden scene changes you get on switchbacks.
10 months agoThat wind blew straight over to Mallorca too. It was wild.
10 months agoThat is twice this tour we have had such wonderful luck. They were both fluent English speakers as well.
10 months agoYou should have seen it. The first time the chain was wrapped between the cassette and tire a couple of times. Keith had to remove the wheel for he and Ramon to straighten it out. The next two times were easier but one gear was the only way to go. We felt so pumped that we could get it fixed. I am sure you are right when I think of what we have ridden on and through the last few days!
10 months agoIt was stressful for both of us wondering about whether we would be able to ride out of Girona. We have a flight deadline now of course. Now that we are here and the bike is repaired we are relaxing over coffee and contemplating just taking the train from Girona to Barcelona. We can do some loop rides blessedly unloaded here. No decision yet!
10 months agoIt was simply beautiful. I think you would love it. El Port de la Selva isn’t big but it was great. A perfect spot for an unloaded day ride up to the monastery.
10 months agoHi Anne - yes we had planned to introduce them to you. They are interested in touring in parts of Italy you have been to. I will point them to your journals. We will get together in Victoria when we get back for sure.
10 months agoI’m so glad you had a happy ending.
10 months agoHow lucky to run into them!
10 months agoWhat a happy outcome to a day of derailleur dilemmas. Please introduce your friends to us!
10 months agoYou look so relaxed 👍
10 months agoGood call to stay in one gear. I’m thinking grit, grim, water in the rear derailleur that may have caused the dilemma? Glad that it happened at the back end of your tour and you are safely tucked away in Girona. Safe travels home!
