3 years agoAnn,
I should have replied much sooner. I had hoped to be able to organize a suitable ending to the blog but I just never never seemed to get around to it. Finally a rainy day and I sat down and did it! The short answer is we are fine - no issues finishing the ride - only issues were finishing the blog. Long answer is in the final two entries. Thank you for caring and it is motivating to know that others are following along.

Hi Pat and Scott
I have been worried as you stopped writing your blog in the middle of your trip. Are you alright?
I so enjoy reading your blogs about your trips!
Ann
Beautiful shot. I love that mocha chocolate color.

What a great gallery today! You were lucky with the light this afternoon. Jacquie Gaudet was just here a few days too, biking the other direction. He two of you are really making us want to visit this region again.
5 years agoThis is the Defile des Anglais, the English house - a fortified chateau built in the 11th and 12th centuries. Great photo of it!
5 years agoHa, "Dordogneshire"! Good one.
Really enjoying your trip from my armchair. May weather has not been kind to most of the folks on the road now. But, onward!
Cheers! Wish I could share that one with you.
5 years agoNope, I would call these tartes!
5 years agoYou know it. Even my single espresso is 2.50 euros. It's becoming an expensive habit. I recall one of your previous post about testing your aging brain with automated coffee machines. Today I used a Bosch unit I have not seen before and quite pleased with my results - even gettimg a result. The price for the coffee is better too. Following along with you and Rachael too.
5 years agoGreat to be able to follow along with you. It’s been so long since we’ve been to northern France, but in spite of the rain you Canadians are tempting us to go back. 5.80 for a cappuccino though? That’s astonishing. Down here in Calabria, they’re a euro.
