This is exactly why train travel by bike is so stressful! Too much demand....and not enough supply.
6 months agoEw.
6 months agoSue and I were in Dole in 2013, and we remember pausing at this door on our walk around town.
6 months agoHi Susan. Does your frame pump not have a reversable head that inflates both Shrader and presta valves? Sometimes you can screw the head out and flip it around for inflating both types. Just wondering.
6 months agoI hope all goes well with your flight home!
6 months agoThanks for following Kathleen - and thanks for your witty and sometimes obscure comments. They made me laugh, scratch my head, and delight when I figured them out! It was great meeting you/riding with you this year. I plan to return in 2025 - hope our paths will cross again
6 months agoThanks Karen for following along. My area of NC (Raleigh) was not hit as hard as the towns in the west - it's a real tragedy.
6 months agoThanks as always Rich for following along and offering comments. My plan is to return next spring and I hope we can get together again once again
6 months agoThanks Steve and Dodie - a 2025 meet-up would be great

6 months agoThanks for the link Patrick - it elicited a few chuckles. I break more than one rule but I'm always happy to be thought of as a badass on the bike.
6 months agoThanks Patrick. It's a place I'll likely revisit, maybe next year when I have more time to explore
6 months agoI used to love going to "Shakespeare in the Park" and it seemed that there were always summer productions almost everywhere I lived. Not so any more.
6 months agoWhat's more weird is that just last night I watched the final episode of season 2 (2023) of the Netflix Tour de France Unchained. It featured Pinot as it was his last tour - it showed his farm with animals and veggies. The route went through the Vosges near his home town and the crowds were enormous in his support - there was even a "Pinot corner." He attacked on the last climb and he was leading as he went past the "Pinot corner" - it was highly emotional, for him, his team director, and for me as well.
