And easily-recognized white shoelaces in teal-colored shoes, to go with the face.

From that angle the upper road looks like it has VERY low vertical clearance... :)

It seems to be a universal truth that where there's a fountain there'll be a kid wanting to play in it.

It certainly sounds like "The Charmery" is aptly-named. :)

Hi,
You are running this section in the opposite direction to my last ride there. There was a hotel restaurant at St.Paul de Tarn that I stayed in but it might be gone now.
The church at St. Victor is worth a visit, if you are so inclined.
Cheers,
Keith

Hi,
I stayed in that very same hotel on my trip to Albi for the semaine fédérale. Did they park your bike in the barn across the street, like they did mine?
Cheers,
Keith

Thanks Scott - for the comment and for finding Nadine. I'm not sure what we missed by not staying along the river, but I totally agree that the detour up, down and in Melvieu was totally worth it

Susan, the description of your ride today gives me a shiver with excitement. The tunnels, the castle at Brousse-le-Château, the ride up the hill to la Charmeraie and of course your wonder full host Nadine. We were slightly hesitant about leaving the Tarn on this bit of a detour but it was all worth it including the ride back down to the river. It is a wonderful road and the days in front of you will continue to be outstanding.

And I saw it on someone else’s journal. On the other site, I suspect, since I can’t find it now to give credit.

I think it was a photo of you and/or Al that put the Chemin de Halage and Saint-Cirq Lapiope on my “must go” list. It’s great how we all take inspiration from one another

No, that tunnel was on the Tarn upriver from Ambliet, near Broquies. Different year, different ride.
