If you want an easy, funny, cycle related read, check out Tim Moore’s book ‘Gironimo’ … a semi historical account of the 1914 Giro d’Italia, and his attempt (as only a English journalist could) to recreate it!
Looks like you’re having a grand time in Sardinia!

Tyre pressure gauge, only weighs a few grammes , dual Presta and Schrader, mechanical, no batteries to worry about!
I haven’t seen one of these before. In Sicily they use something that look like a turkey blaster.
1 year agoI love pistachio ice cream! I hope all goes well on your trip!
1 year agoWe encountered those funky presta valves this year when we bought tubes in Italy. I found they inflated fine and held pressure but my pressure gauge wouldn’t work with them. The Italian bike shop assured me they were far superior to the other type 😉
1 year agoYou had a little bit of everything in your day. Like you I am suspicious of the route Komoot often comes up with. Enjoying following you two. Safe travels!
1 year agoWe've never been to Sardinia (yet) but were introduced to Ichnusa on our Fibonacci Scribble tour. It's quite popular for good reason!
1 year agoIt certainly doesn’t 😳!
1 year agoOff to a great start! Go girls!!!
1 year agoWe went to Andalusia in November 2021 specifically to not be in BC at that time, since we had to pay for accommodation anyway, being between homes. It was an excellent time to be there and we missed one of the worst BC Novembers on record. As long as you're prepared for short daylight and some bad weather days (if they happen), you'll be fine.
1 year agoYour timing makes perfect sense to me for all the reasons you mentioned. Have a great time and look forward to following along. Have more time for that now that we are home. It’s amazing how full each day it when we are on the road.
1 year agoI am so looking forward to this! I’ve often wondered what it would be like to visit either Corsica or Sardinia this late off season. We Combined Italy and Sardinia in an unjournaled trip almost 20 years ago, and by late May Sardinia was already warmer and busier than we really cared for. It could be amazing if you get lucky with the weather and can find accommodations.
