Fantastic day. I love the decade end sheep story. You’ve about convinced me we should give the island a second try.

Thanks! I love the ones where there is some 3D component, like a boot sticking out, or blingy bows.

These at Pina Monnae’s murals. She has painted them in the small villages all over Sardinia. They are fabulous, aren’t they? I am a fan and now follow her on Facebook so I can see her latest an greatest works.

I’m sorry to hear you’re sick and the weather turned bad! What a story about the Finnish man but it’s wonderful to hear about all the people helping him! Let’s hope he learned from the experience. Going South sounds like a great idea!

We heard from a German traveller that these signs can be interpreted as “use at your own risk” and found this was almost always true. Roads that were actually closed were completely fenced off—though sometimes we went around the fence and encountered no problem on a bicycle.

Other than last week’s windstorm, the weather hasn’t been terrible - just unsettled, with short daily showers recently. Perfect temps for us, really. Right around 20-22 C each day, and quite warm overnight. But I’m amazed that almost all the restaurants are closed. That takes away some of the fun.

So sorry to hear that the weather is not cooperating with you on Sardinia. Touring in the rain is not much fun. We toured in Sardinia in early October 2017 and it was nice, but as you note - closed up for the season, even lonely in some towns. There is some very nice riding south of Bosa on the way to Carloforte and then along the south coast to Cagliari. We took a combination of bus and some train through this area but the SP71 along the south coast was really great. I know that I am over 9K kms away - but the weather forecasts look to be improving! Hoping for sunny days and that your colds clear up. Good luck.

Thanks for your thoughts, Susan. I think I will head to Puglia, inspired by your travels there!

So sorry to hear that you and Sue are both under the weather - in more ways than one. I know how miserable it is touring when you're sick. Hopefully things will brighten up when you're on the mainland. Not sure where you might be headed but I really enjoyed my time in Puglia.

The story of the Finnish man is tragic, saved only by the caring hearts of good souls who try to make life a bit better for we travelers. I do hope he takes heed and is able to get sober
