Great train story! I hope you won’t mind that it inspired me to start a new thread in the forum and included a link to your post: https://www.cycleblaze.com/forum/420/

Wow, a whole pizza for such a low price. Are you stashing some for tomorrow?

Hey, someone else who books their ferry crossings in reverse! We did this ourselves two years back trying to get from Calais to Dover. We too were assessed a €10 stupidity tax.

Though we love the pizza in Italy, we try to save it for the inevitable days when pizza is the only choice. Seems we aren’t the only ones who think that way.

You are in for some nice weather by the looks of things. I would probably recommend focussing open the east coast where the roads are in slightly better shape overall and you will have some killer tailwinds judging from Windy. Highlights include cycling the towns of the Val d’Istria, Ostuni, Lecce, Monopoli, Otranto, Trani, Matera. Bari looked worthy of a good visit. Wished we had made it to Altamura. You could certainly cross cross your way along the heel depending on which way the wind is blowing. The small towns are all great. Enjoy Puglia and the nice weather.

Well then, you have lots of time to see Puglia. I will pass along some of the very best places and areas later this afternoon. It’s all good though.

There is so much to see in Puglia and tough to choose a favorite area. How long will you have?

Thanks! Do you have any particular favourite places in Puglia? I’ll head there in a few days.

We saw a book in a gift shop today that was all about murals in Sardinia. 😀

Any favourite places in Puglia? I’ll head there in a couple of days.

This brings back memories of a similar encounter we had in a small village that was totally packed with men watching a soccer game and there was even a big dog right next to me. I love these small towns!
