No smell, unfortunately. The bulbs were quite bit though. It made me wish for a fennel and orange salad!

That’s so true. They build it then walk away. We have noticed this in many places over our years of Europen travel.

I love fennel. Could you smell it?

It’s almost startling seeing these images. We’ve only been here in the spring, when it was all Kelly green and canola. still beautiful, but in a different way.

The restoration project must have just begun. There was nothing in evidence of it when we were here in April.

Isn’t Rome great to explore! Also, if you ever go back they have a great bike trail along the Tiber River.

How come l being able to fill your own cornetti! We’ve been in bakeries where they will fill a croissant with whatever filling you’d like but never been able to fill our own.

Olbia looks like a really neat place and it’s great you finally got some gelato! Have a great time in Puglia.

I, on the other hand, was once thrown off the train from Bologna to Florence by a heartless agent who disapproved of my having two bicycles but only one ticket.

Yes, there definitely appear to be more direct routes. And much faster ones! I possibly just screwed up in selection. I knew that I couldn’t take a fast train with my non-folding bike. And that I needed time in the morning to get to Termini because of where I was staying in Rome (near the airport). In the end, I got to see Umbria, and had a nice trip down the coast. I’ll look for a shorter route back to Rome.

So true that the Italian train personel are so much more lenient than anything in Germany. We have also been waved on with bikes in Italy when we didn't have time to buy tickets.

Must have been an exhausting day for you, anyway. I probably would have eaten the whole pizza.

Hi
I was wondering why you routed to Ancona to get to Molfetta? Is there not a more direct train route?

I don’t mind at all! I think I’m still recovering from the stress of getting on that train at Termini. What a stupid track numbering system. It’s 1-32, then there is a 1est and a 2est.
