yeah, its hard to know. But most castles were built along the river to collect "rents", basically a strong arm to pay or you cannot go by here - not because of the view like we do today!

The castle or the grapes - which comes first ? Ummmm. Thinking building one (castle) because of the awesome view, then helps create the need for the grapes.
