it really was a wonderful experience. if they only had a beer boat...
2 years agofoot is already much better, thx!
2 years agoI’m inspired I’ve seen people floating down this part of the Rhine River, of course thought they were crazy and had used some hired floatation device with assumed boat safety support?
Apparently not and now I know how they do it.
On some future tour via Basel I’ll dare myself to take up the challenge as you did - it does look inviting
Well done
Sandy
Good for you for giving it a try! Sorry about your foot, though!
2 years agoSteve, I find I agree. Lots of pretty towns, Stein am Rhein is one but is so crowded! Not my style. I actually thought Rheinfeld even prettier, and not crowded, but it was just waking up when we blew through there so maybe later in the day.....
2 years agoit was coming down hard for sure. But it was fun talking to that German couple, and we were protected by the bus stop roof.
2 years agosearching for my pink flamingo floaty thing!
2 years agoGive it a go Pat … maybe add in a special leap from the bridge ?

2 years agothanks for the heads up, Mike.
2 years agoI would take care with the hose. Although Rohloffs are pretty bomb proof water will not do the internals much good. If you did get some water in there (unlikely) you will notice when you do the 5,000 km oil change that the flushing oil will come out milky in colour.
2 years agowe really like them!

If you get a spell of nice weather you might want to ask at Tourist Information for ideas about the Wine Route in Alsace. Lovely riding, interesting towns, and of course, wine.
