Cicada killer wasp. Big but not really hazardous. Normally gentle unless handled roughly.

4 months agoInteresting how the wings are in different alignment for most of them. I always think of them in coordination with wings in same as each other. It is a nice shot Jeff.

It is the color of my first truck - a 1965 Chevy C10.
That one is a female. Males are small and inconspicuous. I have never been bitten, but from what I read, only causes a little pain and itchiness... then they say, as they do about all bites, -unless you are allergic-

Those close up insect photos are quite interesting. Unless … maybe they are not close ups and that is their actual size 😳.
3 months agoHomesickness seems to hit when you very much least expect it. Those warm and fuzzy feelings just pop in sometimes as reminders of what you do have at home.
