A bristle fly (Family Tachinidae). Seems to match Belvosia borealis photos.

1 month agoInteresting how the wings are in different alignment for most of them. I always think of them in coordination with wings in same as each other. It is a nice shot Jeff.

It is the color of my first truck - a 1965 Chevy C10.
That one is a female. Males are small and inconspicuous. I have never been bitten, but from what I read, only causes a little pain and itchiness... then they say, as they do about all bites, -unless you are allergic-
