I don’t know who looks more content - the cat or Dodie - we’ll call it a tie. Great to see Dodie’s smile!
3 years agoI’d say you needed that cat to usher Dodie through security. That look right there is enough to scare away even the most devote security agent.
3 years agoThanks Mike! Usually I rely on Dodie for all the logistics (and most other things!).
3 years agoThis cat is very old - 19 years - and is very experienced in the job!
3 years agoGlad to see you have a cat to help take care of you!
3 years agoWell done Steve, you did a great job getting Dodie home.
3 years agoSo glad you finally made it home. What a frustrating, not to mention painful, ordeal. Sending good thoughts your way for uneventful healing.
Btw that cat looks huge! Are you sure it won’t break Dodie’s legs?
Thanks Suzanne. We hope to be in Europe cycling again, soon enough!
3 years agoGood to see you back in your shelter.
3 years agoPhew, am I glad you have that behind you. What an ordeal. But you managed and are now home, that's the main thing. You are real survivors! Get well and stay well, Dodie and Steve!
3 years agoBy February we hope either the virus or Canada's response will be sorted out. But then again, when we left in late November it seemed certain the virus and the response would be subdued by December!
3 years agoLooking over the form the doctor at the airport did, we see he ticked off a "fall" and a "trauma", but he rated pain as 2 out of 10 and cleared Dodie to fly. I would say this was the right decision, and certainly spared us (and the airline) all sorts of grief, since our baggage had already been loaded, and we had no place to stay in the country.
3 years agoWhat an ordeal! We are hoping for a smoother entry into Canada come February for us but I am glad you found some helpful people along the way to balance out the not so helpful ones. You are right - there is no place like the comfort of your own home to recover. I hope it is speedy.

Wow, glad you made it home but what a pain through security. I do remember I had to be cleared to fly too. I made sure I had the doctor at the opthamologic hospital give me a letter for that. Good thing they had someone at the airport do that for you. That omicron has created havoc yet again...Now you can both rest up till next adventure....Take care!!!

Erika Paxman, who is a nurse, came over and gave Dodie a grooming - removed some bandages, brushed hair, changed shirts. So Dodie is looking good. Only thing, Erika looked at the xrays and declared the break pretty serious. Doctor will have to advise if an operation to put in a plate would be best.
