Google searching for Yucatan bright orange crab, I found what "might" be an image match. Habitat seems right.

Maybe a sandpiper of some type?
So many look so much alike! And so many species of them in that area...

Notice the covered trails (tunnels) made of dirt, wood and termite spit.

Yes, if you zoom in on us leaving, you see so much buzzing around the spot on Calle 16 A before we eventually dodder our way out of town!

Hi Laura, it was called Posada N. Luis. The invoice gives the address as Calle 16-A No 88-A X 16Y 25 Frente a la gasolinera C.P.97390 Uman
It's across and down from the Pemex. If you zoom in on our track going out, it may show you the exact location. I'll check that myself now and let you know if that's correct. Very weak internet just now, so I am a little hampered.

Check the toilet 'cause ours had a broken flush lever!
We paid 545 pesos

You two are such an inspiration! Laying on the side of the road feeling awful, and then hopping back on your bike to continue your ride! Amazing, as Peyman would say, simply amazing!!!

Hi,
Very sorry to hear about the tummy troubles. And thank goodness for Imodium. I remember the days before it was on the market. Not how I would want anybody to spend time on their travels. I hope you both have speedy recoveries and can return to Poc Chuc hunting!
Cheers,
Keith

Do you know the concept of the multiverse, from physics? If you look at the two photos above, either somebody has been monkeying the camera settings or there are up to two unrealities at play!
