2 weeks agoThis is such a nice photo as the slowly comes to an end. Lights in the windows add so much warmth for an inviting setting. Glad you found food too 😉.

2 weeks agoYou, that’s the barrier alright. I’m thinking maybe I could get one for use back in the states for day rides when we get around by car though. We’ll have to see - I’m waiting to see if civil war breaks out back there before committing to much.

Nice! I hesitate to ID fungi because they are so variable and so many edibles have poisonous look-alikes. That said, this looks like turkey tail.

When I was in Germany in the mid 1970s one of our German co workers who had been a mushroomer since he was a little kid was teaching me about them... He related a story about a guy who asked "Herr Bohn, what mushrooms can you eat?" To which, Herr Bohn replied: "Oh! You can eat ALL mushrooms... (pause) Some only... ONCE!" :-)
The "cardinal rule" of wild edibles is: "When in doubt, DON'T!"
