I’m sorry to hear about your warped disc, but you might try stopping in at another bike shop when you get to Salzburg. I suffered one of these when we a river in Minneapolis back in June and stopped in at a bike shop, like you hoping they could replace it. They didn’t though - they straightened it! There’s a tool for this - a warp remover - and if you’re lucky enough to find a shop that knows of this and has the tool maybe you can ge t it repaired. It didn’t take long at all. I’ll see if I can find a photo of the tool, and maybe you could use it as a visual aid.

3 years agoI think you're right about Paris - there's something about it that draws one back and feels "comfortable" - especially when you travel through the less-touristy enclaves. Not that the grand sights of Paris are anything to shun - it's just the daily that makes it special to me. Glad you have your travel documents and permissions in order - Avez une bon voyage!
3 years agoHi Susan,
A mushroom to be sure, but not just any old mushroom but a truffle! Looks good, I hope it tasted good!
Cheers,
Keith
I’m glad your injuries were minor. No more falls this fall 🍂
3 years agoLooks like a fantastic trip. Wife and I spent three days in Bologna and it wasn't enough. Amazing food and some cool museums near the center of town. Part of three weeks doing a circuit in the Po Valley.
Il Gelatauro is a must if you enjoy gelato..
Hi Susan
Welcome and what good news.
Thanks for the suggestion of getting water at the cemeteries.
Happy cycling
Ann
Wow, great work! Pass sanitaire and the tous anti-Covid app! You are very French now. Welcome back!
3 years agoGood eyes Lucy!! And did you notice the Trek Checkpoint (Peggy's bike) at the end of the line?
3 years agoKevin - good luck with the bike shops today. They’re usually quite helpful and will point you to another store if they can’t help.
I will be in Paris tomorrow and would love to meet up if it fits in your schedule/route. I can easily meet you most anywhere in the city, at a time that works for you. My gmail name is susanlongcarpenter if you want to coordinate by email, or we can figure out text/WhatsApp.
Hi Susan, we're off to a late start but we're riding in to the city shortly to visit bike shops. I think we're not going south of the river today. Will you still be in Paris tomorrow? We will pass through the 15th on our way to Versailles and could meet then!

Found it. It’s a rotor truing fork, made by Park Tools: https://www.parktool.com/product/rotor-truing-fork-dt-2. The Park Tools website also has an article on how to use it, either to true it on the bike or (better and more accurately) on a truing stand: https://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/disc-brake-rotor-truing.
3 years agoIt looks like a pretty basic procedure if you were in luck and found the right bike shop.
