I don’t know. Ben Parke had some scary encounters with cows. They’re big! Pays to be careful!
3 years agoCongratulations on making it to the top!! You too are a tough lady!
3 years agoGlad you got good weather for your ride to Cortina. We are having lunch in Mollnitz after bicycling from Dorfgastein. We will then be cycling to Muhldorf. I’m so glad we broke up the 2 climbs. You are really tough! You deserve the Queen of the mountains jersey! Enjoy your time in Cortina!
3 years agoI’m not surprised. If you’ll brave the grizzly bears on the Great Divide, this is nothing.
3 years agoGreat that you got such a good day for this, Susan. We nearly came this way ourselves again. I hope to see this view again some year before we’re done traveling.
3 years agoHow fun! And Dorfgastein seems like a nice little town.
3 years agoGood choice! In retrospect, I thought Werfen/Dorfgastein might be a good way to stage for the climb. Where are you headed today? I found a nice hotel in Mallnitz that will do a load of laundry for 5€!
3 years agoHey, we snacked here too! Our lodging is just around the corner.
3 years agoOur hotel we stayed at last night was a half a block away so we stopped and Scott had rhubarb streusel and beer and I had a piece of cake. Great place!
3 years agoWhat a wonderful day.
3 years agoYes, the Italian Alps are amazing! I’m off to Tre Cime today and I’ll be thinking of you climbing toward Bad Gastein. Stay strong!
3 years agoYea, you made it to Italy! Beautiful photos! You’re right that the clouds make it more interesting.
3 years agoThanks Bob. I'm using a Panasonic Lumix DC ZS70 - new this trip. It's very similar to what Scott Anderson uses, maybe a different version. I've used other Panasonic Lumix models without the zoom, but I'm enjoying this added feature.
3 years agoThanks Rich! I'm enjoying your trip on the Via Rhona. I rode it north from Orange to Valence in 2017 - it was one of my favorite sections of the tour.
