How discouraging to have ridden around in a circle! But I had to laugh. Have done it myself.
Hope your colds get better soon...
I had read your entry in the morning before we left so that is what helped us find the Ibis! It looks now that La Pateria is closed down not surprising after your write up !
Off to La Rochelle on a lovely day not the driving rain you had
It took a bit to realize that you are in the Ibis with the Mcdonalds, that we were in, and where we flunked "French Family Restaurant" at La Pataterie across the way. https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/knees/day-sixty-two-marenne-to-rochfort/
On re-reading this, I must say myself it was hilarious!
We took the same photo! It's lighting is a little different, and we see that kid is carrying an oyster! Actually oyster is sensible, here by the sea.
5 years agoWe have ridden that path. I hated it and was happy that there was no one coming from the other direction!

Your photos get better and better. So impressed with your recovery, Tricia. How are those bruises? Bron not so lucky after hitting a truck that didn't see her on a lime scooter as it came out of a driveway. She's got a fractured sacrum Home from hospital. Recovery and healing time ahead now. Lucky landed on backside not head. Bit of a shock!

5 years agoThe amount of work that went into making the canals is mind boggling especially when you realise they only had hand tools. Ankle progressing
5 years agoThings going well Scott was a bit concerned when I hit hills today but actually felt better on hills than on the flat
5 years agoI am fascinated by your photos of the canals. Years ago I had an elderly cousin (by marriage) who had a twin keel steel yacht (Bluebird of Thorne) built specially to access the Mediterranean from England inland. The masts folded. Later they sailed Bluebird to New Zealand, and after arrival in Auckland decided to call it a day and sold the yacht to Americans. He also had a couple of very interesting cars--I'll show you photos of them one day. Hope your ankle continues to improve, Trish, will find out in a minute when I read on.
5 years agoNo the bridge was fine as long as you walked - much better than the alternatives. We are now sitting waiting for 4pm outside the same b and b you two stayed in in Mas d’Argenais
Tricia
Are you sure - looks like a scary bridge for conduits?
