Girish Hemashettar commented on Transporting bike safely on public transportation

Hello George, thanks for your comments and all I will say I was "FOOLISH" to have ridden solo through the tiger reserves. I was hyper-alert or even on the edge of my little seat but not sure if I would take such chances especially ride through the second Tiger reserve which had worse roads and conditions..:-(

By the way, please feel free to pass my contact info (hemashettar@gmail.com) to your friend. I am here for another 6 months or longer and planning to ride/learn more.

Congratulations on a great adventure! I enjoyed your journal and have recommended it to a friend who is soon to visit India. It takes a lot of courage to cycle through a Tiger reserve. Best wishes,

Thanks, Bill. I kept seeing a lot of these "Narrow-banded bluebottles" and was very fascinated by their iridescent blue/green color. Thanks for figuring out their names.

Thanks, Bill. This is truly helpful. I am very curious as to how you dig up the names. Do you do a photo search or a word search? Thanks again for your help.

Hi, you may have misdated this entry. It is still mid November in the world but you seem to have accidentally labelled it as late November. Probably you meant to write October. What a great trip you ard having.

Karnataka (a south India state) is a major grower of coffee and it does have a unique way of preparing coffee. This method of making filter coffee is seen in other South Indian states as well..

Haha.:-) I use a 3-liter camelback bladder. People were kind enough to let me fill 3 liters before they would fill their 30-40 liters..
