Walking up a hill is perfectly okay. After all, you are still getting yourself and your gear up there, just using different muscles.

We've gone into campgrounds and looked for friendly people who aren't using their full site and ask if we can share their site, and pay half. Even in state campgrounds where you might be stopped at the entrance, there is usually a back road into the campground (for fire)

A test pilot once said to me "Phantom jets are proof that with a big enough engine, even a brick will fly." :-)

If you get to a Tim's, try the carrot cake muffin. You'll thank me!

Great plane photos! We have seen quite a few of them this summer, but I have been able to get a good picture. I'm glad to hear you didn't get "dusted".

Wow, almost 3,000 miles. I think it is so cool not only to share this ride with Janet & Ross but with your brother Doug. And to have a great welcoming stop with a lot of family in Michigan. I'm seeing a trend of lots of bike trails since you arrived in Minnesota. I hope this continues for you to the East! It is so good to know that there are bike trails everywhere in this country and they provide such a relief from cycling around cars & traffic. Amy & I have found a couple of new trails this summer, one on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago. A day later we were going to ride another trail with some friends who live in Prescott Valley, AZ but a monsoon changed our plans to the LazyG Brewhouse in Prescott downtown with a brew named "Pedal Pounder"---so in the spirit of taking a bike ride that day, we had to have a pint. Keep the pictures coming and safe travels,
Paul & Amy Teaford

Flat Rock was where the nearest WELS church was located that we went to while I was working at Great Lakes Steel in Detroit after graduating from college - this was back in 1970 - 1971 It's a name I had not heard for awhile ;-)

I hope you have calm crossing on the Badger and welcome to Pure Michigan . It looks like if you are going to Detroit , you will be able to be on trails a good portion of the way . Have a safe journey through our state .

Hi Racpat,
We pre- paid our tickets using the SsBadger web site. Not sure you need to do this because we had no issues with pre-ordering our tickets. The ferry runs once per day leaving Manitowac at 2 pm and arriving in Ludington at 7 pm.

FYI. You are in the area where Janet was born and raised. She was born in aromas which one town east of Sparta.

Hi,
We are in Sparta having done 2 of the 4 rail to trails. We see you will be taking the ferry tomorrow?? So we will be a week behind you then.
Did you need reservations for the ferry?

There’s a really good Mexican restaurant, El Tequila in Antigo on hwy 45. They serve breakfast, great huevos rancheros!

Hi Terry, Looks like with your change to go to Mantowoc to take the ferry, you are not going to go near Cable. Sorry to miss you.
Enjoy your time in Wisconsin and stay off the dirt roads. Also, good idea to not squirt Germain Shepards with your water bottle, They bite!
Cheers to you!
Tom
