Hi, we just arrived in Winthrop and staying at WS David and Betsy....also do you wear shirts with "behind bars" by any chance?? We had friends we were going to try connect with, but they aren't on bikes, and they met cyclists in Winthrop....We also are taking a rest day. We discovered why Rainy Pass is called Rainy pass. Happy Cycling. Maybe we will meet up some day, when you've taken another a rest day. Racpat

Thanks Marilyn! The Irish blessing does seem appropriate, and for us OBriens especially! Although I am kinda worried about that road rising up... We are really excited (maybe a little nervous for me) to begin this adventure!

So excited for you guys. I am envious and wish I had continued cycling these past 15 years. Although I don’t think I would tackle a cross country trip. My favorite Irish Blessing seems fitting for this endeavor. “May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields.” Best of luck!

Sandy,
Hi neighbor! Lummi peninsula is one of our favorite rides. We always stop for a break near the ferry and look across the water at Lummi island. I bet we have been looking at your house each time 😁.

Sorry to hear about your injury. Be patient and your time for your bike trip will come. When I had my injury, biking was a major motivator for me during my rehab. My main goal was to get back to biking at the same level as prior to my accident. It took a little bit but I got there and I am sure you will too.

Thanks for the encouraging words and I hope you will enjoy following us on our trip.

Hi Janet and Terry,
I look forward to your journal. I’m so impressed by people who “get back on the horse” after major surgery like hip replacement. Also, we’re practically neighbors as I live on Lummi Island. Why I could have seen you through the telescope in my living room as you pedaled up Lummi Shore Drive last week! Since I recently broke my ankle, my cross county ride is again postponed (initially due to my husband’s health issues, then COVID, and now for not acting my age) so I will live vicariously through your adventures.

I wish you sunny skies and cool breezes from behind.

Ahh...you may be a day ahead of us then....we will most likely be starting from Anacortes June 2nd will take the trail up to Bayview, then trying to make it to Rasar SP...Then next day the cascade trail from Sedro Wooley to Concrete. Hopefully as we leap frog along, we'll run into you all.
Same to you all, Happy Travels.
Give a toast to the wind at the end of day.

Hi Rachel and Patrick,
Yes we will look out for you. We should be on the same roads at the same time. We will be staying in Bay View State Park east of Anacortes on the night of June 1st.
Good luck on your trip and hope you have the time of your life!!
