If you ever ride the Columbia Gorge on the Washington side, we have a Bingen as well.
6 months agoToddlers are gonna bump their heads. They walk like little drunks. Plus, they usually need an adult to help them. I could totally see myself ducking under the turnstile to help my toddler.

6 months agoAgreed. I really liked the stairs, in spite of having to carry all of our gear up them.
6 months agoYeah, it's a loooong way down from there, but knowing these Germans, they probably engineered it so that it's almost impossible for a vehicle to go off the side. Plus, of course, EVERYone heeds warning signs so they'll all be driving more safely. ;-)

Honoured to get a namecheck, Mr B. I think I'd need an immoral amount of cake to make that ride worthwhile though. Hats off to Klaus, and also to you and Heather for another successful tour, and a predictably compelling journal. Let's hope for more miles in the near future! 👍
