Chicory. Edible and highly nutritious. A little bitter for some.

Cool scar! I want one like that too. So says the guy who purposefully got a surgical scar on his chest that would look like I'd been in a sword fight; https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/warriordeath1/about-that-title/ (scroll down a bit to see the scar - unfortunately it has healed up and doesn't look nearly that cool now)

Looks like a badge of honor, plus you can tell people you were attacked by a grizzly.

You got that right! I've ridden those hills but never got pictures as nice as yours.

That's awesome! I suspect there are a number of places in the Twin Cities where celebrities have eaten... Prince, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Dylan (more than in Iowa, I'm sure). There's probably a website about it.

Gregory Peck and Brooke Shield. Nice. My bike touring claim to fame was in Rogers, MN.
I sat in the same diner booth that Charlize Theron sat in.

I haven't ridden my bike in a whole lot of exciting places, but I have ridden on most of your route so far. I liked it a lot. Nauvoo was one of the highlights of my New Orleans to Lake Superior tour. Once again, I'm enjoying your story-telling.
