Now that's about the speed we like to travel! Glad you are relaxing and enjoying your days - 4 more days until we fly to Merida and we are super stoked! Ruins, cenotes, cervezas and oh yes, some cycling in between! 😊

When you say 'our inflatable rings'.... you are also carrying these?!?

You are an inspiration! BTW - very much enjoying the regular updates. Just like old times!!!

Marian Rosenberg commented on a photo in Dead fish or trash?

I had a dead Chinese carp at one of my hotels in Gansu. When I told them it was dead, they said that they knew this but that the other fish and the turtle would probably eat it and that it was okay.

I'm reminded of the hotel I got near Yangshuo in 2008 that had a black and white TV set.

And those dark green bushes with tiny yellow flowers... Those are creosote bushes. They are found in the deserts of both North and South America! Very interesting shrubs. Best campfire wood you will ever find, and it is so dense, it does not float! Really hard, but I like it because when I carve something, I can polish it so that it shines like plastic, and if I put a thin finish on it, it maintains its rich golden color... For decades! At least, I have not seen it fade on some knife handles I made 30 or 40 years ago. Oh, and it may be the longest lived species on Earth...

Looks like I was right about the broccoli... :-)

This one is a Mexican giant cardon or elephant cactus.

For me, this is an easy one! Sand verbena in full bloom after the recent heavy rains down there.
