Oh how scary!!! So glad you were able to render assistance with both the pic and a hug!
2 years agoWe are glad also, and yes, the closer to London the greater the challenges, it seems.
2 years agoBlimey! ‘White van men’ have a bad reputation in the UK (maybe elsewhere too?), but this seems extreme even by their standards…
2 years agoI’m so glad that things are looking up, a bit! (Getting away from London really helps, imo…)

2 years agoIn the Vancouver Sun today: “The four horses used in the procession were previously gifted to the Queen. The four RCMP officers were tasked with getting to know the horses before leading the procession.”
2 years agoAnd if you think you got the controller wet try using a hair dryer on it?!! I had a air pump and used the vacuum option and ran it along the camera edge and it brought camera back to life!
2 years agoOh my controller was from Grin and I emailed them and he said unlikely to fail. Oh?!? Sorry you are having such a headache with yours!
2 years agoAlso try and undo all connecting parts and reconnect to make sure they are tight…I found that helped. I don’t know how you programmed your assist levels but I found if I rode in level 1 it was hard so I always have it on level 2. Level 1 is like having no power.
2 years agoHi Steve & Dodie, I had same issue with my controller but I knew what I did. My front rack broke so my bags fell off & I stopped to pick them up & fix. But accidentally I knocked the throttle which made my front motor spin out. It caused the controller to overheat & shut itself off. Oh! Once it cooled it just started again. Then another time a fellow tripped over my trailer and the connectors at the bottom came loose so I had to push both back in and it was ok again. And one other time I think it overheated again as I was doing so much climbing that it quit again. But I also had the controller in a waterproof bag so I took it out after and just strapped onto rear rack braces to keep it from getting too hot.
2 years agoDodie did spot the Mounties. We are not sure if the horses were brought over or borrowed. There is a special bond between horse and rider and perhaps a borrowed mount would not quite be the same.
2 years agoDid you spot/appreciate the Mounties leading the funeral procession? (I guess on borrowed horses, though…?)
2 years agoWe would have to change our riding goals and countries. A recumbent, and most definitely a recumbent trike, is not going to pass the trail barriers they have here, for example, and I suspect it would have trouble with the sidewalks that one needs to cling to. On the other hand, our friend Michel from Nantes happily trolls up and down the Loire in his velo couchant. Rather than quit cycling, we could be joining him!
2 years agoFrankly, going inside is a stretch, and even thinking of tasting eel is offputting. We are neither brave nor adventuresome enough.
