I think the idea is that America had to invade tropical countries in order to bring you these kugeln.

2 years agoArriveCan worked for us when we left Mexico, but they must have changed something. There are a few variables - which version of their app or which browser, which operating system, is the password they have the one you think they have, etc.
2 years agoHome sweet home. Glad you made it home safely. Yep ArrCan app can be a pain. I have used it to cross US & home but no difficulty. I will see when I come home end of September what it’s like international. Flights will be late so not banking on getting home on time. Ho hum, a day in the life of us traveller’s, hurry to wait, wait, wait!
2 years agoThat's hilariously awful.
2 years agoLooking good after this epic journey, Grampies! Loved your journal and following along.
2 years agoI suppose we'd better get our ArriveCan #%$^ together before our return, hey Steve? So, stupid.
2 years agoYes, must be getting old. This extends beyond software too. For example in the hotel bathroom, the handsoap sealed in unrippable plastic, especially with wet hands. I think, I wish the president of this stupid soap company would be here with me and let's see them struggle with it!
2 years agoSteve, I did have a chuckle and agree with your sentiments about your Canadian app. I spent most of my working life training software engineers. I am often heard muttering, " Someone should have failed this ****! student" Mutter, mutter mutter. Must be getting old!
Beth
Scott, you are "The One"!

2 years agoThanks Suzanne! I am up now at 1:30 a.m., which is 10:30 a.m. in Germany, so I have already "slept in". Also, while it is not "culture shock", I find all the objects and tools of our "former lives" a bit overwhelming. When you are on the road, everything you need to deal with is in two bags, and the daily routine is quite established. It takes us about three weeks to fall happily into that rhythm when starting a trip, I wonder how long it will take to fall out of it?
2 years agoGlad you got home safely!
2 years agoI have yet to have a positive experience at the Frankfurt airport. Even fight transfers in that air roy are a nightmare. I wish you the safest and sanest possible travel experience tomorrow (or likely today by the time this message goes through.)
