Burrito route? The rapture route?
2 years agoWe were shocked to see that in Rome there was no evidence of a holiday on Thursday. All stores and banks appeared open. Business as usual in the capital of Catholicism.
2 years agoBoth, actually. This is the less damaged hand but the other looks the same.
2 years agoHey - those fingers look pretty okay! (Or is the damaged hand currently hidden?)
2 years agoDear Violet,
your painting left me speechless. Everything seems so much in place that I am carried away with emotion when I look at it. Thank you very much for sharing this.
It was a holiday here in France yesterday also: Ascension Day, which is apparently a holiday in much of Europe: “It is a moveable holiday and depends on when Easter occurs. Ascension Day is celebrated on a Thursday, 40 days after Easter Sunday because, before his ascension, Jesus spent 40 days with his disciples after he rose from death.”.
It was a surprise to us as well.
Holy mackerel, I've never seen so many panniers in one place in my life. Maybe I need to get out more--like to Germany.
2 years agoThat is hilarious. I am going to take a look at the internet myself. The beach peach is an icon from my youth. Vandals set it on fire some years ago and the reaction was swift. It was repaired immediately! The entire town and anyone with Penticton roots was outraged.
2 years agoStay tuned as we now head into the Salzburg area, which is big on dirndls. Did you ever play in The Sound of Music? Could you be a Col. Von Trapp?
2 years agoActually there was one, but it was infested with cars, and no shoulder!
2 years agoMaybe not a franchise but just a common thing. My search for "buildings shaped like the fruit they sell" yielded an apparent 553,000,000 hits. A related question is whether one can get the blenderized orange drink the original sells. Internet, of course, also offers the recipe.
Did you ever go to the Orange Julep original, on Decarie Blvd. in Montreal , or have an Orange Julius at Mayfair Mall (I think) in Victoria?
Ah yes, joggers are embarrassing to us even in good conditions!
2 years agoAh yes, we had never heard of it. You know, sometimes you gotta love and hate the Internet. Just when you think you have discovered something, a search reveals 1,000,000 posts about it. So I tried "buildings shaped like the fruit they sell". 553,000,000 hits, apparently. Of these, I liked the giant pineapple!
2 years agoThen there is the peach on the beach in Penticton.

I'm guessing a First Communion (probably Catholic but possibly a Protestant church).
