Thanks for the update of the pollution info
1 year agoIn the 1960’s a friend had a Schwinn two speed bike. He would race us other kids and win. Everyone was envious of that bikes shifting. But then in 1966 I bought the first derailleur bike in my very small WI town. It was a Schwinn Collegiate 5 spd that cost $59.00 earned from my paper route from Haacks bike shop Madison WI. Most of the kids still thought the 2 spd was a better idea.
1 year agoKathleen,
Thanks for checking out my journal and for your note.
This was my first time in Bloomington. There wasn't much of a plan for my route through the IU campus, though I did want to see Rose Well House, shown in the movie "Breaking Away". I was expecting grand limestone buildings on the university campus, and they do have those!
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
Showed the wife these photos of Bloomington. She went to IU. Says she had a job in this building helping newly arriving students.

That shoe factory looks exactly like the same one in Portage and Beaver Dam WI. Weyenberg shoe factory closed in the mid 70’s in Portage. Thanks for the picture.
