Isn’t this amazing though? We rode this old highway a decade ago and it felt like a 20 foot wide bike lane.

9 months agoThe grill in the opening is also known as a Canada gate, or sometimes a Wild Rooster, in the Netherlands, which is always good for a bit of a giggle from us.

9 months agoGolden toes are from devotees who rub the toes for good luck or as a sign of respect. He is the patron saint of Extremadura. I was surprised to learn this is a self portrait of the sculptor made only in 1954! That’s too “new” ..
