Thanks Led. There's nothing like the attention I get from my little buddy.

Thanks for reading, Rocky. Now that I'm done with my trip I should have time to catch with what you guys are up to.

Diggity couldn't hide his excitement all right. Enjoyed the write up, good to see you out on the road before winter arrives. I too admire people who push their boundaries, cycle tourers, explorers etc far more than pampered Hollywood stars or overpaid sports players.

Hi,
Great trip, but a sigh of relief that you didn’t have any mishaps in Idaho.
Cheers,
Keith

You and me both. When will we ever grow up?

I cannot even believe you identified that yacht at all, much less the length. I've been impressed by bike enthusiasts and motorcycle enthusiasts and car enthusiasts who can identify a model by its maker and its year. You must be a yacht enthusiast.

Thanks for pointing out the England connection. If I'd have thought of that I would have put in my journal. Since you came up with it, I can't very well claim it as my own. Damn.

Ah, for something related to England - you got the rain!

Looks like a beautiful day on the road. I like the moody days like that, and don't mind the rain, if I know I can get warm that night. It is also very nice to meet other solo travelers not on an established route, particularly someone with such an amazing journey/story to tell. You are right that it would be tough to deal with the emotions of finishing a journey of that length. I hope the final days of your tour are fantastic.

I did have a good laugh at the "Drive up and go" signs. Oz definitely has a catchier term for it: "click and collect".

That's a Silverton yacht there on the right. I think it's 35'. Thanks for posting the pic of Maine, er, Idaho. :-)

Normally I agree with you about the heat & the shower. But in this case, the point of the roofed accommodation was to avoid tenting in a crummy patch of grass behind the overflow car parking and next to the railroad tracks. It was just pure luck that I ended up really enjoying that cute little cabin.

The navigation problems my own fault. I need to stick to what I see on the map rather than go gallivanting on some route I really know very little about.
