In our case it is Maun who has the rear view mirror to keep track of me.
We will be interested to see how it goes with the bike on the train.
A very nice trip so far, good luck the rest of the way.
Where to after Prague ? ... maybe we will converge. But don’t ask where our plan will take us ... no firm decisions made at this point. Heading into Dolomites tomorrow.
6 years agoAbout the same garbled version we got! This is an extremely interesting part of Germany to travel in particularly if like us you keep crossing over to Poland
6 years agoI think you got the basic idea. Yandex.com translate is good for working with a photo, but no German to English translation programs are much good. Anyway, here is what Yandex returned:
Here, an injustice has been repaid with injustice.
Here are just a polnisenes fist.
From 20. June 1945
- after the war - before the Potsdam conference -
drove Polish military Germans about love,
- The old, women and children -
Left behind in February, back in may.
East German figures with home, Hab and Good
for All - Grob-Germany
and the failure of international politics.
Yes all going very well seeing a side of Germany we didn't know about. Hope all is well with you

Great stuff! Particularly enjoyed the array of pictures today. So good to know it’s all going well. Xx
6 years agoWe are in Poland hoping for more than Vodka and chocolate for dinner tonight. This really is a great trip very different as this part is really very remote and gives a good insight into how diffcult it has been for these countries to recover from their Soviet past
Ken and Tricia
What an extraordinary day. 1000 km. travelled, Vodka and chocolate for dinner and the IFA tractor which looked as though it doubles up as the family car. Your travels get more and more interesting.
Best wishes, and take care,
Jack.
Ken thinks its great! Changed the tyres to Schwalbe Marathon Plus - it is good because it keeps him at the same speed as me. I am finding mine suits me perfectly, better than my Kalkohof but that could be because mymleft knee has now been done. Find I rarely if ever have to get out of the lowest level of assist and although we are doing some quite long days don't feel particularly tired at the end of the day. Was concerned it is only 400w h but always plenty left in the battery at the end. Maybe there will still be another tour in us even though we will both be over 80 - hope so
Tricia
Aha, a good shot of Ken's bike. For the record, it's a house brand of that Bicycle and Outdoor Company in Hamburg. It has very standard vee brakes, and an aluminum non-suspension fork. 28 speed, with front dynamo and light, Schwalbe tires, and weighing in quite heavy at over 32 pounds. In short, nothing special, especially compared to Tricia's sleek looking white one!
6 years agoApparently the Trabi of the tractor world, a delightful bit of serendipity. We hope it made up for no dinner.
6 years agoKen was delighted by it
6 years agoTrue farmer style repair.
6 years agoHe rebuilt the seat with wood?! And twine! Oh my.
