Thank goodness for that! Don’t you just love days like that. By the way I have a great waterproof pouch for my phone. When we dumped most of our gear to do the Sella Ronda route we were a bit careless and left the pouch behind. And then I was even more careless and got it wet. We are in Lienz tonight and found a phone repair shop. So first thing tomorrow we will take it for repair or give it its last rites. I am not very hopeful but we will give it a shot. You guys are racking up the kilometers! We are now in the same country. Are you headed our way?

Black vanilla ice cream? We have to find some of that for Keith to try. Good luck with the laundry tonight 😜.

I need to find such a shop to see if my water logged phone can be revived ... I have little hope but you never know. Hope that back improves for you!

Tricia Graham commented on Through the glorious Czech countryside to Tabor

We had come this way 9 years ago - obviously had very poor memories!

Thanks for the reminder. We biked through southern CR about twenty years ago, including passing through Tabor. I’d forgotten how hilly it is.

Another one of my orthopaedic problems! I have had two back fusions but still get problems - OK on the bike but walking can be a problem as it is at the moment. As you can see I am an orthopaedic nightmare or as ken says more accurately an orthopaedic goldmine! After two days of lying around much better and ready to go

Your back? What happened?

The one in English of the first stage of the Elbe Radweg ie from Prague to Magnenburg. Dodie will feel so great when she does a complete rotation then she will be off. We are having 3 nights here -have been going pretty steadily and also need to plan the next stage

You mention a Bikeline book. Which one is it? Dodie has about another 30 degrees to get a full rotation on the bike. Slowly slowly it will happen soon.

We don't need to do any hills just enjoy yours! The amount of climbing you are doing makes me feel exhausted - what absolutely spectacular country you are going through.

I just love this memory! I thought of you both today, but especially Ken when I saw an absolutely ancient tractor being used to feed the chickens. I was so taken with the Italian driver and his friendliness and helpfulness that I forgot to take a picture.

Our worst experience was getting on a train in Budapest = we had been travelling for 2 hours before we found we had got on the train going in the opposite direction

Catching trains can be a real adventure. We had the police carry our bikes and bags up the stairs in Passau a couple years ago. That was one of the good experiences. Another time in Munich we loaded our bikes on the last car where the bike car was supposed to be but wasn’ t for some reason. We only had a minute to get onto the train so we throughour bikes on. We were the only ones in the car. When the attendant climbed aboard and saw us and our bikes in the isle she said “you can’t be here”. I said well we are here. It all worked out but it does raise the blood pressure. Sounds like you had a great day.

This has been very interesting in East Germany and certainly very different from the West - almost no English spoken at all. The Oder-Neisse Radweg is particularly well marked and it is almost impossible to get lost. Now for the train
