It took us only about half an hour from arriving at MyPlace doing alll the paper work, locking up the bikes etc until we were out of there. So easy and I had been worrying about it
6 years agoThanks for replying. Interestingly, I was already looking at MyPlace in Zurich when I read your blog. Definitely dearer in Switzerland, equivalent to €1000, but that's not surprising, I guess. We'll just have to bite that bullet when it happens. Or store the bikes in Germany!
6 years agoWell the bike storage worked out very easily in the end. I had researched it on the internet and found 'MyPlace" on the internet. They are a chain of self storage units and very professional. Can also get their web site in English They had a unit which was absolutely perfect fit for our bikes and other gear. Not particularly cheap We took the unit for a whole year and paid in advance even though we wont need that long it just seemed easier. Also were able to find the branch which was an easy cycle ride from our hotel and a tram ride back. Good luck with your search for storage
Tricia
So good to meet her as we have been in contact over the years
6 years agoIt certainly was are now poised to do the Alpes-Adria next year
6 years agoI like that ! The place is just like a prison block but as you can see from the picture the cell absolutely perfect for the bikes to cosy up for the winter. was really a seamless finish with of course the bonus of meeting with Suzanne. Have another night in Munich - we must be pessimists we thought it might take that long. Then a week in Paris before the long flight home. It really has been a great trip
6 years agoYay!
6 years agoA real cycling summit!
6 years agoFor what it's worth, that sign says "No bicycle parking in front of the sliding door"! No wonder the bikes landed in a cell!
6 years agoTricia and Ken,
Maun and I are glad it worked out so well, a seamless finish to a very nice trip. And the storage unit is a bargain, it would have cost twice that much in Paris.
The photo of you and Suzanne is a pleasant surprise, how nice. Have a nice trip home,
David and Maun
And it was lovely meeting you, too!
Loved your Oktoberfest pictures! You certainly had a full day! And so good that you have your bikes stored away and waiting for you next year!
We have had a great time. To Paris on Saturday to see Louise leave for home on the 11th think that gets home on the 12th. Look forward to seeing you both
6 years agoCongratulations. Such a wonderful journey you had. Looking forward to seeing you back soon. Love, T&P
6 years agoI think Ken must be on a mission to make people appreciate ancient tractors !

I like the integrated way the down tube flows into the motor. Is the Bosch motor here actually white, or is that a white housing that is part of the frame?
6 years agoThese days I only seem to find e-bikes interesting to look at. That has now extended to electric cars too. The Chevrolet Bolt seems most interesting. Lots of the topics, like getting batteries of different sizes and how the vehicle guesses (or not) your remaining range are familiar from the e-bikes.
