I say this to everyone who asks about the dangers of taking a bike tour: "Every time I take a bike trip, my faith in humanity is renewed. Every single time." It's amazing and wonderful how this same scenario has played out on my tours over and over throughout my cycling career.
10 months agoThanks George. Yes, it was quite a trip and one that affected me for a time, more than I expected. I'll make Part 2 visible, shortly. I hope all is well with you.
10 months agoQuite an adventure you had! Bike touring can be challenging enough at times, but when you add in the devastation you had to travel through - wow. I'm sure it makes for some good memories though. Looking forward to your next journal, best wishes

Thanks Mark. It's nice to know there are still some good people left in the world. Bicycle touring shows us that.
10 months agoIf you read further, you'll see that I ran into some not so nice people but they were eclipsed by all of the nice folks I met. I suppose that after having gone through the hurricane, some folks were not in the best of moods.
I hope your future tours are full of the best sorts of folks.
