That crossed my mind when I read about the shadowy figure... Being a Zoologist, it had me slightly concerned. Especially since there would be no rocks to reach down and throw if it came to that.
1 year agoBill,
Exactly!
Jeff
Jeanna and Kerry,
Thanks! This trip is a little more adventurous than I had thought it would be.

Memories of crossing the bridge?
1 year agoYou are amazing! Brave, adventurous and so self-reliant. What a journey you are having - just watch out for cougars!!
1 year agoBill,
Yes. Now I need to get a replacement black circle ;-)
Jeff
Kathleen,
Yes! There's more adventure to this trip than I had planned on.
Jeff
Scott,
You're right about that!
Jeff
Scott,
It was a nice change from pancakes.
Jeff
Nancy,
Thanks!
There are so many kind people out there. I haven't mentioned half of those who have stopped to see if I was OK, and to wish me well.
I had two spare tires with me. Before I left home I wrapped them both in orange caution tape, figuring that would keep the inside of the tires clean and dry. Also thought it might help with the bike's visibility. The downside to that is it takes about 10 minutes to unwrap the tire.
Jeff
Sounds like you had an encounter with a big cat. How cool is that.

Wow. Long day. Glad you made it in safely. Maybe try to get more than 3.4 miles for your noon report?
1 year agoI suspect it would be a rare species... Seems all desert minnow type fish are. Looks like maybe a bluntnose shiner?

You do get a LOT done on your REST day!
1 year agoThat crack near your spokes does not look good. I hope you get near a bike shop soon and can have that checked out. You check your bike over often and thoroughly enough to spot issues before they become catastrophic.
