On our 2021 trip, Jacinto had TWO fall out on his rack before we noticed. At least we have learned to carry extras!
1 year agoAccording to my LBS mechanic, that screw is the one most common to break or fall out, by far. Glad you caught it!
1 year agoTo identify an eucalypt correctly you need to see leaves and nuts/seeds.
1 year agoWe have had trouble finding pickles here. More common is pickled veggies - usually carrots and cauliflower. The juice is the same.
1 year agoDill pickles are one of my favorite snacks, and sometimes I drink the juice just for fun.
1 year ago3,900 feet of climbing definitely does make you look tougher. I'm a tough guy, but it's been a long time since I've done that in one day.
1 year agoMight depend on the species. I scanned through several web sites and found anywhere from "over 500 species to this Australian one saying "934 native species, eucalypts" I knew there were a lot, but no idea this many!

Wow. Incredible color.
1 year agoAnd you’re correct too. It’s definitely a nest, in both photos.
1 year agoHa - you are so correct! But I do think there’s a nest on the left corner. When we walked to the grocery last night, we saw storks on a tower, but we didn’t have a phone with us.
You were correct, around Zamora they were everywhere.
You can’t fool me. This is the same spot as above.
1 year agoWhat a scary encounter with the guy in the car! I’m glad Jacinto came along.
1 year agoI’m glad you had a better day today!
1 year agoGreat photo!

Ugh - that sure wouldn't be my choice! Maybe as a last resort. I would have brought Nunn tablets as emergency electrolytes.
