1 year agoWe have been spoiled with such a good first ten days of the trip. They can't all be perfect. Some days end up being character builders!
1 year agoBy the time we got to Elvas, the weather is only in the high 90's. I can do heat if we get going early. Tomorrow is the climb to Marvao. I'm going to skip the provided breakfast (a shame), and get out early. I think Jacinto has been having some sun issues also, which is very unusual for him. He grew up in Mexico and I've always called him a lizard - the hotter it gets, the better he likes it. But, maybe age is catching up to him. I'm not sure he will start with me, but we are eating breakfast early.

1 year agoI have thought of the big bad wolf this trip. He couldn’t blow any of these houses down. Although we do see falling down houses. I haven’t thought of the billy

1 year agoIt's not fun having no air conditioning at night- hopefully that will improve. Your issues with finding food and having no A/C have made this trip challenging in unexpected ways - but it sounds like the riding itself has been very good!
