We stayed in Kobern-Gondorf on our first cycle tour. We had a wonderful room in the tiny town and I loved the whole place so will never forget it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

A comment on your routing issues this day and the motorway misery after Basel: take a look at cycle.travel! Why not ask it for route suggestions along those stretches where RWGPS failed to deliver? If you compare what c.t suggests with what RWGPS tricked you into following, I'm pretty convinced you'll be convinced.

Well. Some were good and some were horrid today.

I'm so glad that I was wrong with my pessitmistic warning that the bicycle route along the Bodensee would be overrun! Looks like it was a lovely day!

We’d virtually never do the expensive breakfast unless there is no alternative.

We’ve had a couple of down pours like that in Great Britain but luckily we were just trying to get back to our hotel from dinner.

How amazing it was that warm!

We don’t go swimming often but when we were in Corsica and there was a heat wave we found a beautiful spot in Calvi to just float and enjoy the amazing scenery! All of the beaches in Corsica we encountered were free.
