The plastic is used for weed control. Better than sprays? But environmentally a disaster.
5 years agoThat would be a very appropriate name!
5 years agoVery cool. Harlequin bug, I think.
5 years agoGreat shot!
5 years agoI took this photo 12 years ago also, with a camera I wasn’t nearly as happy with as what I carry now. I could make out the date, but it was very foggy. This is a really great shot.
5 years agoI like it too, but it would be better without the arms. It’s the nicest spiral staircase I’ve ever seen. And yes, Île de Ré is worth a return trip!
5 years agoYou’ve done fine. This is way better than the photo I came home with from this lighthouse. Isn’t this the best place though? I’d love to see this again.
5 years agoIt’s now a couple of days later and the rain seems limited to a small possibility of afternoon showers for the next few days. Fingers crossed!

5 years agoI’m really glad you’re taking this route. Really enjoyed this region and along the coast. Great to see some of these images again. But the rain!
5 years agoHi Jacquie - that’s quite the day you had. I just read your entry from your French Alpes blog riding up Ventoux loaded... very very impressive! Hope things go well for the solo part of your trip. To me that’s impressive as well. One thing I guess decision making is a bit easier.
5 years agoSome species of honeysuckle.
