Hi Brent
We were but it is going to rain for a week starting tomorrow. So we are cycling to Coimbra today and will stay a few nights.
Lovely shade! I'm going to vote for pilgrim shelter.
3 years agoReading your journal is bringing back great memories of my trip through this area in 2016. Assuming this fall's tour in AndalucĂa goes well, I am thinking about Biarritz (Al wants to go back and I've never been) to the Algarve for a future fall tour, possibly 2022.
3 years agoWow! I am so impressed. So many places would just have a "closed" sign with no alternative route indicated.
3 years agoAre you heading along EV1 south to Lisbon?
3 years agoHi Jacquie
Thanks for reading our blog. We hope to do southern Spain in April and May so I look forward to following your trip.
Will have to read up on your past adventures in Portugal!
3 years agoYes we have been to the beautiful train station. We went to the bookstore and the line up went down the street. Next time! Thanks for reading our blog and commenting.
3 years agoHi Maria
Thanks for dropping your note about the blog. Yes we are having so much fun. Everything is working out well, there have been a few challenges but when other things work out, it just makes enjoying them that much sweeter on the trip.
Hi Ann and Steve,
Just finished reading all your blog entries of the last month.
What an adventure you are having there! I love reading your blogs. Great writing and wonderful pictures!
And so happy for you that everything is working out so well!
You must feel so elated and alive, being exposed to so much beauty (even though you sometimes have to work hard for it).
Maria
Livraria Lello.
3 years agoIf you have the time, the gallery of the Sao Bento train station is beautiful. I think there is a spectacular library in the city that I have yet to see (I return in April).
3 years agoJust found your journal today and am binge-reading it.
We hit on a nice balance by camping but eating out. Campgrounds in France, especially the municipal ones, are close to town so this is feasible (unlike here in BC, where campgrounds are usually well away from any services).
I still do this if travelling solo, but Al prefers not to camp anymore.
Thanks Rachael, we may head to the Almeria region in the spring, so noted. Thanks !
